I'm betting that there wouldn't be the same kind of conciliatory tone if we were talking about a car dealer here, say if the OP had ordered a 2 litre engined car and the dealer actually supplied a 1.6 litre one![]()
That's a bit different, as presumably if you'd ordered a 2.0 you'd also have paid for a 2.0. also, you don't order 2nd hand things.
The OP clearly knows the market availability for these boats and as per my post above, since you cannot force the seller to reduce the price your options are accept it, re-negotiate or ask for your deposit back (which I agree you would have a right to do). If the dealer delivered a 1.6 as in your example above you also be able to reject it.
The thing is, maybe the boat is already a really good price and ok, now its not as brilliant a deal but perhaps still the best around.
