Here's a new one, went down to boat today, started engines, both gauges read exactly 90 hours more than when we last left her. No she hasn't been out on her own as we have an alarm with geofence, have had new batteries though.

Are the engines electronically controlled and are the engine hour meters electronically displayed? I had a similar problem last year on my MAN engines when the engine hour displays went haywire and over a period of weeks the engine hours went up to over 13,000hrs per side. I hate to say this but over winter it cost me over €4000 to have both engine management units sent back to MAN for recalibration

non electronic engine hours meter runs when ever the ignition is on. Th engine doesn´t need to be running. Have the people who fitted the new batteries left the keys in the ignition in the on position?
