I have some Ultraflex Control Systems hatch rams to lift my engine hatch on my Sunseeker Superhawk 34.

They have failed and I am now after something new, as these rams seem to fail every four to five years.

I have no idea what the hatch weighs....but it is heavy, almost too heavy to lift by hand.

Any recommendations?

Bennetts (as in trim tabs) do a range of rams for this application - trying searching for Bennett hatch lifter rams, that should get you started.

Just a thought.......

Some years ago I wanted similar things & managed to get some from a local car scrapyard at a couple of pounds each. I'd guess the weight of a car tailgate might be similar so if you're lucky...

Start by checking if the original data is stille visible on the old ones. They do come in many sizes, specs and materials (even stainless).

Go for the same force as the original unless you want to alter the geometric design.
