My enfield outdrive goes into reverse fine but going into forward afterwards it jumps out of gear several times before settling in ok. Its got gradually worse over several days cruising, is there an adjustment coming loose or is it something worse?

Just a few cables from Boulters Lock

How long is it since you checked the adjustment at the lever on the side of the leg where the control cable links up? The symptoms suggest that the cable length needs slight adjustment as its not fully engaging the dog clutch when you put it in forward gear.. Call Bob Knowles at Bob Knowles Engineering - 0116 253 8685 -he's the manufacturer and spares source these days and I found him always very helpful.
I had a more serious manifestation of this problem which eventually led to the connecting rod inside the leg fracturing and the leg having to come off for a replacement to be fitted. The original rod design was poor and there is a later mod which is much more sensibly engineered. Anyway, try the cable adjustment first and hope that solves the problem.
