My onboard battery status meter tells me that, with everything turned off at the switch board, we still have a discharge of 2.9amps! Where could this be coming from / where do I have to look? The only "unusual" state of affairs is that the starter motor has been taken out for replacement.

Thanks for helping.

Try dsconnecting each circuit at the switch panel (remove fuse) to see if that narrows it down.

How many wires are connected to the battery bank? Disconnect each in turn. Are there fuses and switches on these additional permanent live feeds?

Are there any other connections in the wiring between battery bamk and switch panel? Bilge pump? Solar panels? Wind gen? Radio? Nav stuff?

It is a process of elimination

First make sure the meter is reading correctly.
Make sure everything is off an use a multimeter on the amp scale. Disconect the battery feed cable and put the meter in series with it.

If the only thing that has changed is the starter motor having been removed then that would be the first place I'd look. Make sure the cable isn't touching anything!
