I have two Elecsol batteries that I have had for 11 months and they are giving up the gost, not holding their charge. I have tried charging them independantly but still no go. I have attempted to contact the company by phone and e mail but have had no responce. Has any one else had problems. My previous batteries were Elecsol and lasted five years no problem

If you bought them from a retailer, take them back to them to sort out if under warranty.
If you bought them direct, send a letter outlining your predicament and dissatisfaction and ask for them to send out replacements or contact you to resolve.
E-mails are not always the best means of communicating as so many get 'junked' by spam filters at companies.
Good luck.

I hear what your saying but the company I bought them off have since changed hands. Today I finally spoke to a representative from Elecsol who was not very helpfull or very friendly and would only say"You will need to get them checked independantly by someone and then we may consider changing them" I have now started to speak to trading standards as I do not think that this is good enough. They are not yet 12 months old. So much for customer service.

Please keep us updated.

We need to know about this, they were recently featured in 'Caravan' magazine and given top marks.

Perhaps they should be made aware of this.
Caravaners are elecsols biggest market.

Let me add that my previous set of three Elecsol batteries were very good and lasted five years. It appears that if you have a problem with the product then you have trouble with the warranty. Yesterday I spoke with the owner of the boat yard and he said I was the third person this week that had the same problem. He also had been trying to contact the company and only yesterday got a answer. He was told charge the batteries up for five days then check them. Well if they cannot hold a charge what good will that do? Anybody got any ideas?

Elecsol's non-existent customer service

Just a warning about ELECSOL - their attitude towards customers absolutely stinks. I ordered a 220A battery and was phoned to be told it would be delivered on the Friday. No battery turned up. Phoned late afternoon and left a message asking them to phone back to let me know where it was - no-one phoned. Finally got to speak to person rather than an answering machine the following week and was greeted with a gruff and curt "Elecsol". When I explained the problem all I got was "Name?", then a few seconds later, "Yes it HAS been delivered. You weren't in so the courier left it outside your gate - I told them not to bother with a signature. So if it's not there it must have been nicked so you'll just have to phone the police and report it stolen won't you?" I told this charmer that I could assure him it had not been delivered at my property since I would have seen the courier arrive but I was virtually accused of lying about that - I got the impression that he thought I had received it and I was trying to pull a fast one. As it turned out I (not Elecsol) ended up chasing up the courier and found out the battery had been left outside the gates of the wrong property. I'm still waiting over a week later for the battery so perhaps it has been stolen - but then that's not my problem, it's Elecsol's for being so stupid as to let the courier leave something costing over £240 lying outside a gate next to a road without getting a signature. I would expect a reputable company to have apologised for any delay - I had after all taken a day off work for nothing in order to take delivery of the battery - and to have sent a replacement battery immediately, not get rude and aggressive. I have not even received so much as a return phone call to let me know what is happening. As it is I shall contact my credit card company, get a refund off them and they can run around after Elecsol for the £243 I've paid. Frankly, I don't care whether their batteries are any good - they simply don't deserve customers when they treat them with such contempt. BUY FROM ELECSOL AT YOUR PERIL.
