Does anyone know if Edward williams insurance is still going or have they gone bust as I can't get any reply from them.

nice of them to tell me as i have have been with them for years and paid my insurance in march.

so has my insurance been moved to a different company

Assume you are uninsured. Go to Topsail or Curtis immediately.
You have lost 5 months but just think, you have gained over the years by (presumably) paying a low premium. I just hope that your reason for contacting them isn’t for a claim.
not claiming just couldn't find my paperwork but knew I played it so looked up there number and tried to called it the numbers are no longer in use.but I do know someone claimed £25,000 off them

If you search the forum , there are many posts saying they are fraudulent going back to 2013 , I would reinsure .

I thought the name sounded familiar.

No, you never actually had insurance, as far as I can see. It was all a scam, apparently.

How did you find out they have ceased trading? The links point to an old thread indicating they might not be the best people to use for insurance and a 6 year old warning issued by the FCA (mentioned in the old thread).

Their web-site welcomes you to their new web-site and latest branding. The domain was created about 17 years ago and won't expire for at least 3 more years. It still seems to be based in Mijas, Spain and out of the FCA's reach. I suspect there are several other insurance related domains run by the same people. They do seem to be involved in Boat Insurance, Pet Insurance, Car Insurance, Travel Insurance, Home Insurance, Life Insurance, Business insurance and Pensions.

I wasn't exactly stunned to hear that they'd finally ceased trading but that may not be correct. Is it a case of a Pheonix company with a virtually identical name?

Because the OP said he cant get in contact with them and the posts about them going bust

Even if they are still trading, a bit of research suggests they are a bit of a cowboy operation

However, the website does look nice but its based in Spain.

So maybe they went bust in the UK and they are still trading in the EU

Either way i couldnt care less....i was just only trying to help out another YBW board member. I have no personal investment in this conversation

Apologies, I thought you were answering the OP to confirm they had gone bust. I read the question "Does anyone know if Edward williams insurance is still going or have they gone bust as I can't get any reply from them?" and thought you were confirming the fact.

I do know they don't appear to be the most reliable firm (see my comments in the thread you mention) and that they are based in Spain (mentioned in #12 and the earlier thread). Threads about the company go back at least 8 years on YBW.

I wondered if the web-site message about re-branding and new site indicated the creation of a new company rather than a cosmetic update. I checked again and see they do say "We are the same company".

I did see that their SMTP server wasn't responding and that would indicate that their mail system is off-line at present. I was always surprised to discover they were still in business when a new thread appeared.
