Spent last week crusing CI. Aborted going to Chausey due to weather but went to Ecrehous, well recommended. Entered at low water which made identifiing Bigorne and Sabloniere rocks either side of the conical rock on 22T transit interesting. The PBO recent article says the next 330T transit lines up a black rock with the flagpole, wrong, this has been changed to a whiter rock with the flagpole above siloetted in front of a black blackground, however we sussed this and went on the Jersey states bouy as soon as enough water. Only one other yacht there and saw loads of seabirds and seals. Great , stinking hot cloudless day.
Good blast back from Alderney to Lymington in the developing 6 and 7s, but I was reminded why I have not been to Lymington town quay for over 8 years, got moaned at for being too big for the red lines on the pontoon. I left and Lymington will not see my custom again. Dont suppose they will be bothered and I am not either, why can't English towns be more like Carteret, Carentan etc. All in all however an excellent weeks sailing and got the old girl up to 10 knots even with trysail and Solent jib on.

Yes, a magical spot. There's nowhere else quite like it on earth, specially at high tide, except maybe the Minquiers.

Pity someone doesn't open a bar there on summer weekends for the over-nighting boats, or would that ruin the atmosphere?

Ah, but surely a bar would encourage people to be drunk in charge of a tender? Gotta be careful with that these days......

Was trying to get to the Minquiers as well, ah well always next year.
Re-read the ST article again today and oops found it was correct re the transit so my apologies to the author. Funny how on the day I and all the crew read it as if the white rock was written as the black rock. Just goes to show how easy mistakes are made.

I notice that the Lordship of Ecreho is for sale - so if you fancy being Prince Brian of Ecreho here's where to look:

The absence of engaged virgins (living on Les Ecrehous) makes it of dubious value...

The sale turned out (not surprisingly) to be a sham, and I dont think any bids were ever received. eBay has had more success selling Glastonbury mud!

Many apologies, I stumbled across your pic with a web search and thought it gave a very authentic feel of the place, better than my own which I was going to use. Here is one of mine, seen from the SW rather than the SE:
