Ebersapacher D 3

Thanks for that Baggy , the exhaust and intake pipe both go thought the same locker and although there don't seen to be any fumes in the locker and the locker has a second duct pipe coming from out side , I stated to wonder if some how the intake pipe is sucking fumes from some where .

First step is obviously the exhaust system including silencer, ensure it is all gas tight, if not replace it, use the proper clamps and exhaust assembly compound on the joints, it has a service life and does not last forever. Other exhaust related is a diesel leak dripping onto the exhaust. Second possibility is gas via a porous/cracked heat exchanger or failed gasket, technically heat exchangers should be replaced at 10 years but rarely are on boats. When it's all done then arrange for the recirculated air to be ducted in from outside the locker.

Hi David
Exhaust have been re moved and checked , no leaks . No diesel
Leaks or any drips ,
Air duct goes into cock pit and it clear , when it try's to start there plenty is smoke coming out of the exhaust , once started ( and it don't always start first time ) the smoke from the exhaust almost goes away but we can smell exhaust
Fumes coming from the hot air duct .

Thanks for info David , the only problem is we in the med and finding someone to look at it isn't easy .

Oh I see....... I guess you would have more success finding an air con tech, I would suggest D.I.Y. but in this case if I were servicing it I would want to pressure test the exchanger unless something conclusive presented during dismantling.
