Hey, less of that. I spend so much of my working life on long haul flights, I just need a bit of chill out time.![]()
But your wife stays at home, so she might like a bit more excitement than Ventnor.

I'll have you know Ventnor can be very exciting on a blustery day...![]()
Went there by boat, dingy and legs this summer, very busy but a good and very wide choice of food for a lunchtime. The New Inn at Shalfleet used to be very good, but some years since I have been there. Shalfleet is a few miles from Yarmouth towards Cowes, at the inland end of the southern arm of Newtown Creek.
Stacey, the ad says it closes at the end of first wk Sept, so we may have missed the boat if you pardon the expression!I've heard quite a few good things about The Boathouse at Steephill Cove (South side of island, nr Ventnor). Looks gorgeous, delicious food apparently, and great views. We've never been, tides weren't right, but desperate to go.
Here's their site: http://www.theboathouse-steephillcove.co.uk/seafood_restaurant.php
If you do go, could you report back please?
Enjoy - hope you get some good weather.

George Hotel, Yarmouth is good but bit pricey.
We will be based at Bembridge.
