East Coast Meeting Forum? Or Boating Forum?

Seems to me as a newbie here that this East Coast forum is much more about boating on our lovely coast than it is about meetings. How about renaming it?

We refer to ourselves just as East Coast Forum or ECF. The Meeting bit was to serve its original purpose.

A rose by any other name.......I don't think you will find much feeling for this proposal. 'Nah' seems about right.

What's in a name? Happy as we are. Just dont let it turn into an annex of the Lounge as seemed to me was attempted a few weeks ago.

We all get on famously here regardless of boat persuasion.

History:
We started this as a sub forum to visit Oostende as a group for Voor Anker. It kinda grew like topsy out of that. Some of us still do that, but we do a whole lot more including source of all things nautical for our area.

There are some pretty remarkable people hereabouts.

We had a Laying Down Supper last week...... about 30 of us at RHYC Woolverstone. Lovely evening it was too.

Meetings planned for next year include:

Fitting Up supper
gathering in Oostende
gathering of ye pirates
bbq on the barge at Queenborough
possible meeting in London
Laying Down supper

plus anything and everything in between that anyone fancies posting about.

The test to the question is whether the current name puts off people who otherwise might want to visit the forum. I suspect that it may do to a small extent, but since it has a certain charm, I voted to stay the same.
