...and do they exist on the East Coast, Jim, I've heard strange tales about those vast windswept space and mudflatss, where radio checks are unheard of?:)

With land as flat as ours, line of sight, aldis lamps and semaphore are still the order of the day.

Oh Goody, I'll order lots more Inglefield clips for my signal flags and halliards, I still have my copy of Browns, but my lamp speeds were always rubbish; sort of 'Wh..(yawn).a..t...S.(ywawn)..h..ip'.
If we don't see you at SIBS 2015, we may be back in the Friesians again next year, and I'd really like to rerun my 1998 Wayfarer trip across from Southwold- but in more comfort and quicker this time.

Me too. For those of us who use the settings button to only show our favourite forums on YBW it doesn't matter where they put the ECF but if it's next to the lounge then we're in for some unpleasant times. Some lounge lizard will see a thread and jump in with their I'm- a-big-boy boots.

The lounge lizards don't iinfest Liveaboard Link, PBO, Scuttlebutt or the mobo forum. No reason for it to be sent different for the relocated ECF

And in the unlikely event of an issue that's what Mods are for

One of the things I like about the ECF is that we've always been able to get by without Mod intervention.
Even FC is a mere mortal among mortals here.

There's a lot of truth in this: Pour vivre heureux vivons caché.

Indeed, the only Modding I have done is to put Chatting Lils event post up as a sticky.
I remember that all unwelcome intrusions have been sensibly argued away by the members hereabouts. Long may that continue.

And there's no reason for that not to continue. The concerns about the lounge lizards invading are unlikely to come to anything IMO

Surely not! Mortal perhaps but never "mere" :)

Oh come on! Come up with one good reason (not including unfounded concerns about the lounge lizards) why one of the more active, and probably the most friendly, of the forums on this site should be buried away under a pile of dead wood out of sight to all but the most persistent scrollers

There's a danger of sounding like there's a bit of a clique thing going on here and I'm sure we wouldn't want that
