East Coast liveabord

Actually if you read what I really say, I always admit she's not good in light airs; the strong stuff is her forte.

Vic seems very pleased indeed from what he's said to me; and there's another about to be operational on the East Coast - nearby I think, don't know the area -probably starting next Spring.

I had better get into some training then :)

There are some permanent residents in Leigh "Marina" - its ok if you don't want to go sailing very often, reasonably near shops and pubs and the railway station.

Hi everyone thanks for the responses. I had thought about Tollesbury, Fambridge looks pritty good but going up and down the Crouch I think would drive me nuts!

I hadn't thought of Brightlingsea anyone with first hand experience I know it tends to have a bit of a bad reputation. any thoughts of Tichmarsh marina?

Hoo marina - again. Now run by Residential Marine; seems to be abt 50% liveaboards nowadays.
Gillingham marina over the river also has punters living aboard but not officially. There's Ferry Quay up the Deben if you can get a spot. But as others have said, anywhere so long as not conspicuous.

Having today chatted to liveaboard friends who have spent the last 2 winters in Ipswich wetdock there is apparently a moderate community of permanent liveaboards there on the ABP moorings. No idea what the legalities might be though.

Theirs a few liveaboards at Titchmarsh marina in Walton. Expensive but good facilities and onsite restaurant that we visit regularly.
