Hi all, which marina on the East Anglian coast would you recommend for a liveabord? If any I hope that some are welcoming.
Thanks Giles.

If by live aboard berths you mean official licence where even council tax at the minimum band is payable and where you have security of tenure I know of none that have live aboard berths. A couple in London but residential licences are all but unobtainable (and mad prices) unless a boat is being sold with one. There are of course some places that turn a blind eye if you behave but no security, permanency or residual value is involved. If on the other hand you mean those who welcome continual cruising live aboards I would think almost all would welcome you.

Let me be the first to welcome you to the forum, Giles. I'd suggest you look at places like Brightlingsea, Tollesbury, Fambridge, etc.

The East Anglian coast is a pretty long one, so a narrower location might help. Round here, for example, there's Fosdyke marina where I know of at least one liveaboard. It's tidal though, and the gangway to the pontoon in winter can look uninviting at times

Depends where you want to live?
Id never tell them im living on board.
Just tell them you want to stay on board-
Then just get your mail sent there.
I have been doing it for years and on my 5th marina now and no one has questioned.
But if id have rang up and asked if i could live aboard the answer would have been "no".
I dont think i have been to a marina yet that doesnt have someone or people living onboard.

I would have thought a marina owner would welcome one or two liveaboads to keep an eye on things for security

Those were the days, saw a few landlords come and go in the Anchor, long gone now, the s/d on the right looks the same class as my first self build boat, can't remember the class type---

In my post above I suggested it was a GP14, but now I don't think so, there is no after deck. It looks a bit like an Enterprise, but it is not because track is not like that, and they have blue sails. I wondered about a heron, but the mast seems a bit long for a Heron
