Usual excuse is I can't control my boat at less than 5knts or I'm just blowing the cobwebs out of the turbo, don't think either apply in that case

Here's one boat that 5mph doesn't apply to, filmed today at Kingston. If you can't quite make the name out, the clue is: 'begins with C and ends in T'.....

Moored in the Teddington Lock Cut yesterday at about 16 30 I was awoken from a gentle afternoon rest by the very same vessel passing by at excessive speed. Teddington Lock Cut could be a very good place for the EA to use their speed radar kit. In my 17 years of Thames boating this was one of the worst examples of boating ignorance I have witnessed. Even more sadly it was by a commercial vessel who one would like to think the skipper should know better. Can only assume they either don't care or think regulations don't apply to them. For the record as the afternoon continued Cockney. Sparrow and the New Southern Belle passed at very acceptable speeds.

Have you tried the Passenger Boat Association?
If as you say their timetables are somewhat optimistic it would be interesting to get the PBA's take on this.

I've just had a look at the Passenger Boat Association website and Colliers Launches(owners of Connaught)are not members.
Which doesn't surprise me in the slightest(as from what I've seen)The skipper of Connaught is entirely self regulating.

I made strong representations about this issue at the recent TNUF meeting. Time will tell to what effect.
