Duvel or Leffe

Planning a transatlantic cruise in the not too near future so I 've still got time for tongue in cheeck questions.

When moored alongside me, which beer would you prefer to be offered: Duvel or Leffe Blond?

I like both almost equally and I think my stack will be limited so choosing is necessary.

And by the way, what are the limits for carrying beer across borders?

I usually manage 144 x 33cl Leffe Blonde when returning to UK from France but did manage 240 once. Only 42 leffed in the cellar now - time for another trip.

Ok, but obviously crossing the Atlantic will bring me outside Europe (since about 1776, as you islanders clearly like to forget ;-)
So what is this amount in the Caribbean, etc?

Are we talking about Leffe Triple? If not, I'll stick to Kasteel or a real Trappist thanks.

Leffe's brewed by Interbrew (called InBev now IIRC) and is mass produced mainly for the export market. Nothing like the real Trappist beers (Westmalle, Chimay, Orval...).

Duvel's brewed by Moortgat - one of the larger independent brewers.

Jupiler is the best normal beer in Belgium. (if there can be such a thing as normal beer.. : )

You've probably worked out that I live in Belgium and have drunk a lot of beer since I've been there.. : )

Westvleteren Trappist please, or Sixtus, its commercially distributed equivalent. Or, if you're going to where it's hot, Hoegaarden.

Try HSB. Horndean Special ......tastes like pond water ....its definately an "aquired" taste!!!!! But the 6x in the small barell made for Xmas is rocket fuel.
