dutch shore power - will i need a different lead and plug?

Whatever plug/adaptor you use, make sure you have a plug-in circuit phase indicator - especially in some French marina's.

You don't need anything more expensive than the Martindale unit. That is all I have, plus an adaptor lead for reversing the polarity if necessary.

Genuine question:

Why would you need such a device. I'm from Holland and I haven't seen anyone using such a thing.

My battery charger doesn't care about which side of the cable is phase, as long as it's not the ground-lead obviously. Neither does the calorifier.

Cheers.

There is no continental standard plug. There's a bodge called Schuko which (sort of) fits into French, German, Spanish, Italian .... sockets.

Hmmm. There is a standard European 2-pin plug, for everywhere except Italy (where the pin spacing is different). Everywhere else has a 3-pin version (same pin spacing, so you can plug in a 2-pin) using either a standard Schuko plug (earth top and bottom), or one that has also been adapted with to fit the 3-pin sockets with an earth pin.

New builds in Italy are using the Schuko, and every place I've visited has adaptors permanently plugged into the sockets.
