Dusseldorf

Have any of you well healed types been to the Dusseldorf Boat Show over the last couple of years ? If so, how good is it and any suggestions on a convenient hotel ?

Have not been to the boat show but have been to other exhibitions there over the years. I would tend to stay near the city centre so it is easy to go out at night. The exhibition hall is only a short train/tube trip from the city centre.
