Are there any Dufour owners association members on this site? Just need to ask if it's worth joining and paying for a yearly subscription when there is so much great information and help on this free site.

Can't believe there are no Dufour owners on this site who are member of the association! Think I will give it a miss and stay with this great forum.

I am Chairman of the Dufour Association and also use this forum.
I see value in both sufficiently and in different ways that I and others give up time with the other members of the Dufour Association to make it worthwhile.
Your choice.

Haulyfrn,
I would echo Bob's post. I am a Dufour owner and association member. I am based in Scotland, so unfortunately out of reach of the social gatherings. I would recommend joining - to at least be able to partake in the active on-line technical forum. There are many members with very good advice. I think it is only around £10 a year, so don't be mean!

Hello,

We're french owners of Dufour 34 (the last version 2003 to 2011 only) and we have made a Facebook group about our favoit boat.
We have some owners from France, Belgium and Norway.

If you have a Dufour 34, you can join us in our closed group :
https://www.facebook.com/groups/Dufour34.FanClub/

our goal is to federate arround this boat, convey a benevolent image and to share our technicals solutions.

Sorry that I missed this thread first time around. I must have been out sailing at the time. :)

I, too, am a member of the Dufour Owners Association. Indeed have been since 2005 when I bought Angele.

In my view, the quarterly magazine is worth the £12.50 annual membership by itself. The fact that, through the association's website forum or its Facebook group, you have access to other owners of similar/identical boats to ask technical questions is a bonus. But, best of all, if you are located in the UK (or CI/Northern France) then membership of the Owners Association enables you to attend the rallies - typically half a dozen or so a year and very enjoyable. All that for the price of a couple of beers or a bottle of wine.

Thank you for your replies. I have just completed my application to join the Dufour Association and I am sure this will help me with my new boat.
