The classical way ( chemist speaking) is to wash with alcohol or immerse which takes in the water, lots of alcohol with little water is best, then treat the same with acetone which does the same to the alcohol as the alcohol did to the water, shake and a final rinse with acetone which will readily evaporate leaves your item dry. With your screwdrivers your then need to lubricate.

The question is, are there any plastic components inside?

Anything all metal can be dried with a hot air gun.
Plastic-containing things, better to put it on top of the heating boiler.

If you can blow any water out with compressed air that's good.
Things in aerosols are OK, but they tend to stink the house out when you then put the item on top of the boiler.

I find GT85 very good, being a lighter oil with some ptfe and a less unpleasant smell.
Plus I seem to have about 6 cans to use up.
