drive shaft brake?

Hi,

I have a new engine with hydraulic clutch - which means the shaft rotates when under sail, causing noise which I could do without.
Is there a shaft brake which can be fitted and what are the negatives if any?

Just shift the throttle until the coupling comes in. Since the engine doesn't turn, the shaft isn't either.

thanks for your reply.

I'm not sure I understand your advice.

When I am under sail I have the engine turned off; but the shaft still rotates or "free wheels" and makes a rumbling noise due to drive shaft rotation.
I can't stop the freeweeling as the clutch is hydraulic (fluid).
