Dredging in the Lock Cut Upstream of Benson Lock

From 18th June 2007 for a maximum of 10 days, work will take place to remove a substantial shoal. The lock will remain open but there will be some delays to river traffic whilst this essential task is completed.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause.

But first they have to find a dredger, its so long since they used one - it has "Moses was ere" graffiti on it!!

Someone impotant must have hit the shoal. They've been told about it for years, well since Blakey got stuck on it anyway.
