To add to the the myriad of attractions Dover has to offer, there is now free wifi in the Marina, codes from office.

Robust enough to allow TV streaming.

But aren't they planning to fill the marina in and build you a new bouncy one out in the harbour next to the Prince of Wales Pier?

That is indeed the plan, but will it happen? I have serious doubts, without serious government infrastructure expenditure I don't think Dover is a viable freight hub.

Who cares as long as I can watch telly and listen to the radio for free.

BTW any news of the ancient mariner, he seems to have switched his AIS off

They seem to be quite serious about rebuilding Dover harbour this time. All for very little operating gain from what I can see. There will still be room for one small container ship, two cruise ships and possibly an extra ferry berth down east.Cost?Think of a large number and double it.They should spend the money on cleaning up the town centre and developing the place as a tourist attraction in its own right. After all it has the most famous cliffs in the world topped by one of the best castles, and thats before looking at the vast Napoleonic fort opposite.Massive potential all overlooked by decades of blinkered leadership.
Sorry for the rant,I was born there and hate to see it like it is.

Agree! Dover has become a particularly dismal town to visit.

I am not normally too fussy about these sort of things but by far the worst aspect is the continuous pollution from thousands of HGV passing a few hundred yards from the marina. I don't know what can be done about that.
