I've sailed with many owners, over the years, who have one excuse after another for not bothering to learn The ColRegs. They usually skate lightly over other responsibilities, too.

Please do Father .... 'cos I can't ever remember seeing that collision before and I'm well known for not ever forgetting anything.

As for the video, I thought that the two sets of 5 short blasts was from the cargo ship as that's something I've heard myself on more than one occasion. However, the posts accompanying the video say that the 5 blasts were given by the sailing ship. Surely that can't be true as it's just too absurd. :ambivalence:

Somewhere in here you will find a link to a news article that contains the video. In fact I think there may be more than one. All I can say is that your fabled memory is just that a fable or do I mean feeble and yes you are well known but I don't think it's for your memory.
