Whilst on the yard in Portimao/Parchal, we ventured across the road bridge into Portimao itself and succumbed to the aroma of grilled fish eminating from somewhere under the arches. There are three restaurants in a little courtyard there, we chose 'Dona Barca' because of the charming waitress, excellently priced daily specials and the fresh fish on display.
We were not disappointed; bread basket, olives and pickles, three main courses cooked to perfection, three desserts, litre of local wine, soft drinks and coffees all for 50Euro. It's walkable from the yard and from the town quay (not sure how far from the main marina) and well worth a visit.
