I have a small seep from my domestic pump, I think from the brass connection casting, see pics below. I think this is frost damage. The pump cycles every 5 mins or so, and I can feel wetness around the casting.

I think the manufacturer is IFMA, but not 100% sure, perhaps Paolo will know better?

Apologies, I still haven't sorted the imaging from postimage yet.

Certainly looks cracked; easier just to replace the entire pump assembly, no? Jabsco pumps are not that expensive, as an alternative - I replaced mine a year or two ago.

Here are your images:

If you take it to bits, you may well be able to solder the crack
worth a try?

I'm also for repairing stuff, wonder if it's cost effective as the impeller should be in there, so not just a matter of welding, must be careful and possibly have to sand the inside?
Always worth taking it apart and seeing what's like inside of course :D

Side Q, How noisy is the pump P?
Jabsco and co plastic diaphragm ones are fairly noisy, wonder if this is more solid and more quiet.

cheers

Fwiw, the pump you've got was actually built by "AMFA Pompe", near Turin - unsurprisingly, on an Azi... :)
You might try googling for them, though I'm actually in doubt about whether the company still exists or not.
Just in case you should need to replace it, Gianneschi is THE domestic water pump you want to have onboard.
Not cheap, but head and shoulders above anything else.

Yep - I have a Gianneschi
This one

In fact, I have two - one stowed away as a spare.
The salesman couldn't understand why I wanted a spare - they are build like the proverbial brick ?hit house.
I also keep a spare pressure switch on board.
The domestic water pump failing is a "show stopper" when you are away cruising.

That said, mine is still the original - whoops thats jinx it!!

A small hint if I may, M: connect it in parallel.
This way, instead of having the "main" that takes all the wear and tear and the "spare" that just gathers dust, you halve the wear on the "main", hence getting an even longer lifespan out of it.
The chances of both failing at the same time is ridiculously low anyway - arguably, it might be more likely to connect the "spare" after years of dust collection and discover that it doesn't work for some reason, even if brand new.
And whenever one will fail, you'll have zero downtime, as opposed to removing the main and install the spare pump, which is not a one minute job anyway.
Fwiw, I've also got a Gianneschi on the DP (just one), and I'm not rushing to buy a second one because - ahem - I already exceeded my refitting budget enough, according to swmbo..., but I already modified the connection in view of attaching a second one as I just said.
Not my idea, btw. I'm stealing it from a few other boats where I've seen it... :encouragement:

Not really noticeable inside the boat Vas. The pump is tucked aft in the lazerette. Only really aware when in the cockpit.

It it is really a small seep could you remove, dry and try to injects some epoxy into the crack?

I may try brazing to fix, once I have the thing off, and understand the nature of the crack, where it is relative to anything important etc. I'm also looking at Plan B, a replacement, so trying to understand the litre per min etc. I couldn't see anything that I could understand on the pump body, and I am assuming there is nothing too trick about the pump, other than it looks like a brick sh!t house compared with a Jabsco. Also has an accumulator under the pump.

When tested, the pump wasn’t split, but the impeller O ring had failed. Pump now back on, however I can’t get it to prime. There is a bleed screw that I can feed water into, and the pump will feed the system. It is not drawing from the tank. Any suggestions please?

can u attach a hose from outside tam to a tap on the the boat open the tap and turn on the water witch will push out the air in the system

Bleed screw is to let air out, not put water in. Try filling tank to top and opening bleed screw, it should expel all the air.
