I remember putting a tear in a brand new Genoa as there was an unknown sharp bit on the spreaders.
Sailmaker said no worries it’s particularly easy as it won’t have stretched yet. They mended it for £100.
Friend arrived home to a kicking as his wife had opened the parcel. He was told off for spending £100 on a new sail. She thought it was the purchase price.
