Does anyone REALLY use their foredeck cushions?

The cushions on most boats are a pain to store. All these new boats have loads on the foredeck to make them 'Multi Functional'.
In my 40 years of boating around the world, no one wants to be up front, often slamming and windy.

At anchor may offer a shelter for a brandy and cigar or a morning coffee. Otherwise why do we lug these foredeck cushions with us?

Yep, all the time!

Always!

We put a canopy on the foredeck and some folding chairs with no legs (as sold in every chandlers)...it’s the wife’s favorite place to read, nap and cuddle the dog...I rarely go there except to set it up, tear it down and bring drinks and snacks

Do you carry a cloth over you left arm…..

Never really used them much but last year I had them modified so they can be reclined. This has transformed our usage. We use them all the time now. One of the best mods I’ve made to my boat.

never bothered to make proper cushions and happy with my decision...
On anchor:
use the area with a towel for 10mins (ok 15max!) after noon swim to dry.
use yoga mats in the evening around sunset to relax. That's it.
with kids onboard (well, were kids, now in the v.early twenties), occasionally they're used more but they don't care if there's a cushion or nothing

Ours are in the garage!

I’m doing the driving and paying for the fuel, let them sit on towels

Seriously we haven’t any , but the boat has a huge cockpit and rear 2.2 M L sun pads .Funny thing is it seems when lying on them the Bimini shades your head .You ( well we do ) might like that .Aged pretty ladies wear wide brimmed hats in the Med for a reason .

The old Sunseeker had them and as the op infers storage , and UV deterioration etc etc , but it was a little boat .

Edit = apologies to Tranona …..just realised I have posted some pic s to make my point(s) .Sorry mate !

My wife reports that there's nothing finer to be on the foredeck when we're on the plane.
Too much sun and ladies of a certain age ( for the avoidance of confusion post menopause , on this mostly blokes forum ) end up with too much facial sun , the complexion of a walnut .
My boat s window / front screen opens so we can allow a draft through the cockpit. This means you can get draft to cool in the shade like the lady on the aft sun pad .What was Amarti thinking ?
FWIW .Its worth a lot going Fwds imho as it happens .
You gotta wake up with her ! Chopping her in for a 20 yr younger model makes the hobby even more expensive
Can be preventable.
