Does anyone know the make and model of this very salty looking yacht?

It's dirty for sure but I'm just not seeing what others are seeing. The guard wires are tight, and I'm not seeing any actual damage. The stern light is present and correct and the fenders still inflated. It's sitting under a tree, and was probably sitting under another tree prior to being loaded on the lorry.

A garden sprayer and some patio magic will probably reveal a reasonable boat. If there's rigging give it a check over for damage. Most importantly check for water ingress. If it's dry inside then it may well only have been sitting under that tree for a year going green. It could actually be a bargain if someone wants rid of it and a quick survey looks ok.

As for money pit - I bought a 1999 Jeanneau in excellent condition and have managed to spend a small fortune regardless. That's boating I'm afraid.

Maybe a few more pictures needed-venture onboard and see what’s hidden below which might reveal info in form of actual builder info or old papers even. Would the vessels location help narrow down ? Presumably friend knows who he bought from or is it inherited?

The rather eccentric securing is a worry; it appears held up solely by ratchet straps and the rubbing strip has been carried away by one of them.

Great game based on a dodgy pic of boat on trailer - doubt it’s a folk boat mainly because that’s such an obvious one with dozens of owners. I just wonder where the mystery boat is lurking as surely some forumite might be local and put the OP out of his misery ?

No need for the OP to be shy about the location; there is a neverending supply of manky old boats sitting in yards and gardens waiting to mug unsuspecting dreamers of all their disposable income and time for the foreseeable future, there will not be a stampede for this one even if it's free.

Could it be a Trintella 29? the hull shape, rudder and superstructure look very similar. Two models below.. a 1969 and a 1980.. window difference but windows can always be changed.. just a thought anyway..

There's a lot of commonality with the 2nd one, the knuckle/ridge on the rear end of the coachroof is quite unusual. Also for sale and more or less ready to go sailing for £6.5k, a better proposition perhaps.

Yes I agree.. but someone mentioned Van de Stadt earlier too and they have something a little similar if I recall.. but then again the older ones have the keyhole type hatchway. The trouble is trying to gauge the size.. it could be 29' or nigh on 40'..
