Does a Led Lamp BAY 15D fit in an old Aquasygnal mast top lamp?

I know they work in the usual aqua signal port and starboard lights. But needs to be the right one. One of these are for combined side and brake lights in car use and the other just single use. Only go one way too, when you get the right one.

You can use a regular warm white BAY15D LED but really it should be a sectored one with red/green/white LEDs. They are available with a replacement lamp base to line up with the lenses, or as an AquaSignal specific lamp that is set for the right angle for the existing base.

If you have an Aqusignal Series 40 then this is the one with the pins at different height in warm white. BAY15D 18 SMD 5050 LED Navigation Light Bulbs

Another for boatlampsas link above. Is it for the tri light or all round white? If a tri light you require a sectored led lamp that ensures the colours are correct. Boatlamps do them.
I'm a happy customer of theirs having converted all my lights to led.

Just realised you aren't UK based, but hopefully you can find a supplier closer to you.

If you buy a sectored light (which is a good thing to have), note it has to be orientated correctly for the specific brand you have, i.e one that suits another brand will not necessarily have the correct alignment for your Aquasignal (because the bulb holder is mounted the opposite way round to some other brands).

Note also that even if it is labelled for Aquasignal (or whatever brand you have) still check it is correctly orientated when you first install it. I bought a sectored light, specifically marked for my brand (I forget which), and luckily noticed before I had the mast craned back into place that the red & green LEDs were facing aft and shining through the white lens, and vice versa. When I took it back to the chandlery they said they'd had several bulbs brought back with that complaint.

The tri colour led lamps are better than white leds if the lens is old and going a bit off colour, even warm white leds can look a bit blue-ish behind old green lenses, but the tri colour still show through in a correct shade. I too used the tricolour from boatlamps.co.uk and am very happy with it in my old aquasignal mast top light.

Just did mine with a company called Bedazzled. First rate service also the all round white can have a light sensor for the anchor. Going to put one in the cabin for when I'm not there on a swinging mooring
