I know! I was about to reply to your first post with a bit of a "hang on a minute pan" but then saw your second post! Punch up averted!!!

What threw me was how smart the quay was, and it took a second review, although I really like Soller Marina Tramuntana normally it can be a bit untidy (portacabins etc), obviously the film production company put out the plant pots etc and used the best angles to avoid the messy bits, I often visit on my trips and can highly recommend, the marineros are friendly & helpful (even done my bow lines for me occasionally!).... should have known better than to question your judgement!!

The last time I was there, perhaps 7 years ago, I think there was a cool pop up bar at the end of the quay (made from a shipping container). Is it still there?

Certainly is.. one of my favorites, the G&T's are the best value of the island !! even got some live music on occasionally ....

This lotto advert did bring a smile, so here's a Q for the big boat boys...........
Largest boat I've helmed berthed on a regular basis is a 46 footer (not mine) quite easily without a bow thruster in calm conditions even though there were tight fairways.....How easy/hard is it to get to grips with a vessel of this sort of size?
Just interested as for sure unless I win the euro's I'll never get to know.......

Psycologically it is harder, but when you've sorted out that 5 minute problem then it is actually easier. I would much rather park an 80 footer in a gap with a foot to spare than a 46 footer with a foot to spare. You can move a bigger boat with precision accuracy much more easily than you can move a small boat.

In saying all that, I think a bow thruster is pretty important. A stern thruster is a waste of time on a P boat and it cannot do anything for you that the propellers won't already do better, but a bowthruster does allow you to move the boat in a way that you can't without one, so it is very much worth having, imho.

All seconded 100%.
I had a few occasions to maneuver a heavy 70 footer with a somewhat high windage, and while her powerful hydraulic b/t came in handy in one occasion with some xwind, I never even thought to use the stern thuster (which she also had).
Far easier to control than my much smaller boat, overall.

PS @RobWales: of course, one thing to bear in mind is that the sheer mass+inertia of a large vessel is bound to create more damages, if and when you should actually hit anything, compared to much smaller and lighter boats.
In other words, just take your time and move slowly! :)

Does anyone know which port that is? Looks nice. I guess it is in spain because the princess 23m has a Spanish courtesy flag, but I don't know where exactly. Not balearics, I think

I can confirm it is Port Soller and the boat was a SS Predator 108 called Casino Royale.
I was on holiday there the week they were filming and walked round a few times to see how they were getting on.
