Do Volvo pay goodwill?

Re: how about this?!

Excellent...although scared by the bit that says the buyer has to pay postage (how much does it cost to send a 47-seater coach through the post?). Black Cab a much better idea...might look into that.

Re: how about this?!

Back cabs are brilliant to muck about with. Only down side is once the boot has been filled with a fuel cell and the nitros bottle theres not much room in there. Then of course you loose most of the back seat cos the wheel tubs protrude into the space it used to sit in. The tubs are a must, just to house the MT's on centerline split rims that are located on the seriuosly narrowed rear IRS that used to reside under on of Prescotts fav mode of transport. Loads of space for the ex mercruiser 5.7l lump after you've reengined the boat with one of those oil burner donks (pah, spit).

Only downside is that the wipers lift off the screen at anything above 110 mph. Then of course plod will question your use of the bus lanes because he reckons that the Wade blower with bug scoop sitting atop through the bonnet is not standard fitment to the FX seris cab and are you sure your not overloaded because its "sitting rather low to the ground, isn't it".

Of course theres always the extra income that it can produce on a saturday night in the west end!

Re: coach!

Damn fine idea. Embankment parking = fine. Also good for hogging motorway fast line, esp in pouring rain. Can also park nearer closer to the terminal building at Stansted and footie ground. Manual gearbox (about 12 gears) will keep you busy.

ooh, You sound an expert. Where can i can one. I want it all q-car with no wade blower. My fina lbit of disguise is that I will tell the old bil to "turn it in, squire" and never ever pick up any passengers whatsoever.

Or what about this one then?

A few years ago a chap I worked with in Holborn used to drive around in an old hearse. Said he always managed to park wherever he wanted and no copper or traffic warden was ever mean enough to put a parking ticket on it.

And loads available for under £4K too. Guaranteed never raced or rallied.

Yes I know you wouldn't be seen dead in one of those would you?

Cor that\'s cheap......

So at £42.00 for 3/4 hours work you're only charging £56 an hour for labour?

Local VW dealer in Bedford wanted to charge my daughter £60 an hour to fault find a problem on her little Polo. And who said it's more expensive "darn sarf"

Had some problem with the paint coming off my props. Volvo said they would re-paint them. The week before they were due to be remove SWMBO managed to run agroung whilst I was having a wee. I then owned up to Volvo and negotiated a new set with 67% off. So the moral is, try your luck and grovel. You just never know!

Re: Do Volvo pay goodwill - YES

I know some people really have a down on Volvo, but last year a friend had his QL ( Volvo ) trim tabs replaced free by Volvo after he complained about them. They were 7 years old!!

Perhaps not in boats but in construction and truck equipment they have a fabulous reputation, first of all reliability and secondly standing by any equipment that falls short of what one would expect. Of course it is fair to say that we have got quite a bit of their kit but I have been rather rudely awakened by a different attitude by Volvo in the marine industry.
Not that I have experienced this myself, well perhaps once when we had a tacho replaced under warrenty and I wanted the other one replaced as well so as the hour meters tally'd and no they would not do that.

But has anyone an example of an engine just out of warrenty failing and Volvo not standing by it?

ooh that is quite a hefty plug. I should think they do offer 100% goodwill but that's no blimmin good if you actualy wanted a car rather than a problem, is it? Let's face it, french people hardly go very far, and usually it's over a field, for which you need a cheap citroen. It's very fortunate that France has lovely scenery, to compensate for the ugly cars. The espace is ok, the powerful ones like a comfy flying shed, and it has detachable seats, but also has detachable everything else too. Also, if there isn't any goodwill, all the spare parts are marked up 100%. Does this even it up a bit?

Re: Honda\'s & the Martini problem

The new model Accord has had a recall because the ignition switches are faulty, resulting in the car just cutting out mysteriously at any time, any place, anywhere:))
