So whose rule is it then ??? Get yourselves a life or get back to teasing me, you lot really do need to lighten up a bit. Should I offer to shake your hand? ;)

Searush I never mentioned RULE either.

Yet again I agree that we should lighten up and not get irate.

We all have our own opinions on any subject and we should all respect that.

Great thread on the RNLI defence by the way, I do not understand the opposite view but as said above, each to their own.

you should have a radar because of the fog. early on in 2011 the condor vitesse crashed into a fishing boat and killed someone because of the fog so it is advised that you do have a radar.

Both vessels had radars. Unfortunately the skipper/crew on neither vessel was using it properly

yes that's true, but when they looked into it further they came up with the conclusion that the condor was travelling too fast considering the weather conditions which meant that they couldnt see for more than 100ft which isnt enough time to spot the boat and slow down or turn to avoid it.

The logical extension from your observation then is its a waste of time having radar then. :D

If that in fact was the finding then you must only travel as fast as your eyeball visibilty and steerability allows in fog.
