Have a problem with the red lights on my 12 volt distrbution board. The bottom two are for the lights and are on more or less continuously. They need replacing every couple of months or so and it is getting to be a pain in the rear to find a chandler that stocks them.
Has anybody got a similar problem and if so has anybody got a solution please?
The option of turning off the lights now that winter is on the way is not acceptable.

Try LED's.

Maplins or your local electronics hobby store would probably have something suitable for 12v.

Take less current, and last almost indefinately

any old cheap LED will do the biz but you need to put a 1K resistor in series or they blow instantly!

You can get LEDs which have the resistance included - but make sure first!

Radiospares have a wider range.
