no, not a personal hygene problem and apologies if it's been previously covered. A fellow mobo'er from my marina took a couple of nice digi pics of my boat - from his, while I was tearing around at the weekend, one thing that really stood out was the colour of the hull (normally below the waterline) - Green !!!

My boat was only launched late March and been used every weekend since! is this normal ? or have the boat suppliers used a particularly sh*te antifoul? My marina (MDL) want about 100 quid to lift out and jet wash, just seems a bit soon to have to do that ??

Just like the weeds in your garden, spring/early summer is peak growing time for marine fouling and whilst regular use will reduce the effect slightly, there's no way of avoiding it totally unless you dry dock the boat. My own boat has lost about 4 knots on max speed since February and I will be having lifted/scrubbed in July as usual
Some antifoulings work better than others in different places so ask around in your marina as to what works best. Eroding antifouling paint (eg Micron CSC) is generally better than hard antifouling (eg Interspeed) but is not generally reccomended for planing boats although I have found a couple of coats of Micron CSC will last a season on a 25knot boat
