Dinghy Outboard Behavior

Maybe you have it in the shallow water position whereby the prop is just underwater. Ok for tootling up a shallow creek but no good when you want to go faster!
 
drop the tilt pin to the first hole closest to the transom. Your prop sounds like it is cavitating on the bow rise as you climb out of the hole. I get that on my tender when the bow is allowed to climb too high on any other hole but the first. I was convinced it was prop hub slip, but it's not, if the bow lifts to high the prop sucks air down. Once fully on the plane with the hull skimming the surface once again the prop would suck in air and cavitate if too much throttle given
