With the increased prevalence / risk of diesel bug, would this be an opportune moment to build in a fuel polisher / day tank to feed both the engine and also heater?

Main tank as is and filled as normal, and a pumped loop/feed between it and a new higher day tank with a couple of racor filters to screen out detritus.

From this new higher day tank you take the feed for engine and heater? Fuel return from engine going back into the same tank?

Watch out for one sucking the fuel from the other. That's why I had to put in a one way valve on the day tank feed.
