Hi - This is more for a if anyone can recall if there was a water or any other contamination from any of the Marina Fuel Stations on the River Hamble around 2015 / 2016 time ?
This is not meant for any type of Witch Hunt etc etc - I only want to know a history of a boat Previously affected by Diesel Bug.

Fuel contamination / fuel bug is normally caused by a build up of water entering a boat’s tank over a long period of time normally years it is rarely a single incident causing the problem.

All diesel has some water in it, condensation in tank, leaky fuel filler lid seal's, etc. it builds up year on year

Most fuel tanks do not have sumps to catch free water and crud to be drained off or sucked out, mine do and I remove about 100ml from from a 2500 L tank each season. Most owners do not religiously use biocide for diesel bug.

So on my boat after 20 years you would have 2 litres or more of water growing diesel bug sloshing around the bottom of the tank initially below the level of the diesel pick up in the tank.

My point is people following a fuel bug problem often point a finger at a specific outlet as the source of all their woes and it rarely is, it is problem that has accumulated over a long period of time.

Yes this is indeed true.
But I am trying to get information on a possible event from around 10 years ago.
