Diesel Contamination Hamble area History ??

I haven't drip fed anything
I am not being coy
I was told that there was an issue around 10years ago with one of the fuel stations having contaminated fuel.
And I posted here to see if anyone knew of it??

Does anyone know anything about a report that Elvis was seen in the bar of the Royal Southern around 11 years ago? I was told that there's a photo in a Yachts and Yachting of a group of guys in oilies holding pint glasses and the one at the back on the left next to Lord Lucan looks like Elvis.

I haven't seen the photo myself.

And Elvis made a getaway in a RIB - the press tried to follow him, but unfortunately due to contaminated diesel their power boat stuttered to a halt letting Elvis get away.
They are now seeking to sue the fuel supplier for their lost earnings from what would have been the scoop of the decade.

Maybe ?

Not a hope in hell with suing.

The fuel supplier has gone bust a few times since then and changed names many times as well. Their solicitor is already implying that the boat was not fit for hire / use due to the lack of suitable fuel filters fitted.

I thought it got stuck in Bembridge ledge when both engines stopped because of contaminated fuel.

And did you know that if you extend a line from those Portsmouth Harbour new leading lights out along a great circle eventually it crosses exactly the position of the main gate of Area 51 in Nevada? And continuing the line in the other direction into the harbour and out to the north, the line leads to Ken Dodd's birthplace in Knotty Ash?

This forum has turned into Facebook , poor bloke was only asking about fuel contamination because the boat he is thinking of buying was moored on the Hamble at the time and has had its tanks professionally cleaned by a reputable company I know and trust .
We all know the damage that contaminated fuel can do to a high powered marine diesel , I guess all the ones that have replied with stupid answers must have been bored when they decided to try and make fun of Jon.
FWIW I had the pleasure of carrying out the inspection and sea trial for Jon on Monday , both him and his wife are very nice people , but then again like myself are Northerners so they were bound to be nice .
Looking at the above post reply I am not surprised Jon retaliated with that answer .
Jon has not cruised the South Coast so he doesn’t know the fuel suppliers, most local boaters do and once a problem has occurred like it did in Cowes many years ago everyone knew about it .

Thank you Paul - what I asked was just a question that required a direct answers.
People who are clueless, sad or just bored just jumped in which caused the thread to totally drift and potentially stopped / put off any folk who may have knew of any contamination from answering.

It's posts that turn this way that made be lurk for over a year rather than reply to help people , the demise of a group that made a massive and positive input to the forum also disappeared, JFM is back but that's about it . The advent of Facebook and its many Volvo penta pages and the likes of Solent boating make it far easier to post pictures , video and chat over this site , hence it is not so popular nowadays.
