Yes, I was just passing Shotley and saw it shoot out past the Navy Yard surprising a few yachts! Looks like a good crowd on board, would make a good forum meet-up next year if we all took a trip from Harwich to Tower Pier?
Usually picks up at Clacton, Southend, and Tilbury, on the way to London.

She was out of Whitstable on Friday, heading for Southend.
And we passed her yesterday morning around 0800 on our way home from Burnham, she was NE-bound in the East Swin (bypassing some of the new Middle Deep buoyage, as were we...). Ghost ship, not a soul to be seen.

She was down on the Solent w/e before last , have a evening pic but can't get it on here using phone , shame really .

Mention of the Solent brings back memories of a summer job before I left school as cabin boy and then Purser Boy on the Isle of Wight ferries Portsmouth to Ryde. As well as the diesels there were I think two Paddle Steamers (Shanklin and Ryde?) The difference between Cabin Boy and Purser boy was simply as Cabin Boy I cleaned the Crews toilets and as Purser boy I cleaned the Passengers Toilets... I also learned to play poker.... :) and enjoyed the occasional 'Trick' on the wheel

Coaling the Paddle Steamers was the dirtiest job I've ever done dragging 5cwt sacks of coal from the hatch to the Coal bunker shute.

Still reckon it was the best job I've had...... an excellent summer

To get back to the thread, I'd be well up for a trip up and down the Thames next year.....
