Delrin bullseye

Just to update, that's the job finished. Turned out my existing bullseyes in the boom weren't far enough aft, so I've ended up fitting three altogether. Sail should set much better now. Pretty simple job really, although getting the new (3rd) reef line through the boom was a bit tricky. I ended up taping a light line to one of the existing reef lines, and then pulling it along and plucking it out with a bit of wire as it went past the new hole.
At the gooseneck end, I just have the new reef line exiting on the underside of the boom, in the slot, so that it can go to one of the clutches. Saves a lot of work and expense fitting a third clutch.

Only real snag I've hit is that the tack for the 3rd reef has been put too close to one of the track shackles, and with the sail slides all stacked up it's miles away from the ramshorn. I can solve that with a strop, or alternatively I could undo the sail slide shackle if I'm setting that reef.

Thanks for the various contributions, it's been an interesting thread.

That is a pity. It will mean possible boom at incorrect level etc. Also one might query if one really wants to faff with shackles in rough weather, whilst balancing on deck, in a precatious position.
Why not bite the bullet & get the slider position altered whilst you are doing the job?

So... two new eyes in the luff, either side of the tack cringle? Possibly.
I tried out the strop idea and it appears to work. But I could get the alterations done next time the sail is in for servicing.
