can anyone recommend a good dehumidifier for boats?
I need one with a heater, with a timer so it can turn on/off automatically and also a thermostat so it could come on automatically if the temp falls below a pre programed temp. and of course economical to run on shorepower.

any suggestions welcome. thanks.

I Have An EBAC One & Find It Fairly Good .Quite Expensive At About €400 Compaired With The €150 Ones That You Would Find In The Chandlers , But It Is Still Going Strong After 5 Years .

I've got an Ebac CD-30, and still running strong after 10 years. I know people that have run these units 24/7 for years with no problems.

I agree with the Ebac recommendations. Calorex are another serious brand making bigger machines.

You need a model with hot-gas defrost so it can work below around 15 deg, but be aware that even these don't work if the temperature is down to zero, since the condensate can't drain away. The Ebac models that I have both switch off at very low temp to avoid that problem.

I am not sure why you'd want a time clock, or a thermostat. Why not just set the humidity stat to maintain the conditions that you're after?
