what should the humidity be set at (high or low) i have flooded the back of my van once that is dried out i want to put it in the boat for the winter i havent got instructions
I put mine on a timer and run it at "normal" setting for about twelve hours overnight. This seems more than adequate. I either drain it into the sink or bilge (where I can pump it out occasionally).
The "normal" setting on mine results in a constant 65% RH - which seems about right. I leave it on constantly and it then switches on/off as necessary. At the start of winter season it seems to run constantly for three or four days and thereafter starts cycling.
I don't have instructions for mine either. There's a snowflake-shaped warning light. What's that all about? Is that saying that it's too cold to work properly, or it's all frozen-up having been used for too long?!
I have set at "Normal" which I think is around 65% RH - I have it on a timer comming on 2 x a day - dawn & dusk - for around 4hrs a time . It drains into the sink. To give you an idea of how effective it is the loo rolls are totally dry!
I’m currently running a dehumidifier and it is safe to say the cabin is lovely and dry. It also feels warmer as there is so little damp in the atmosphere. I can’t remember where I read it but I have followed the instruction of running the unit on continuous (full power) for several days and then turn it down until it turns itself off. The unit should control the humidity at this level from then on. I cannot guarantee this as it is my first time using one but it seems pretty good so far.
