I currently have the mast down for a re rig and noticed that the heavy power cable and vhf cable running up the inside of the mast are sealed where they exit through the deck by a blob of silicone. Thinking this is not ideal I have been looking at cable glands. The issue I have is that the heavy 3 core cable is oblong looking and not round, are there any cable glands that would accommodate this cable or is a blob of sikaflex the best way?

Most chandlers stock Scanstrut cable glands in various sizes and configurations. The rubber bungs that do the sealing around the cable can be customised if the standard hole does not suit the cable.

This is what I used the cable connection between my deck and mast.
