DECA to GPS

I have some old wreck lists in DECA format and need to convert them to GPS.

Is there a formula to follow to make the conversion?

What do the DECA (DECCA ?) format co-ordinates look like? Are they hyperbolic lattice co-ords or lat long?

Transfering Lat/Long from one device to another will not be a problem if they are set to the same datum as the chart you are using. So it depends on what datum your DECCA was set to.
Pre WGS84 I think UK charts were mainly ED50 but I could be wrong on that datum.

Using the wrong datum will induce an error as indicated below:

Admiralty charts pre WGS 84 were OS 36

Only some were - all depends where in the world. Channel islands were ED50 for example.
