The word on the Hoe is that there is a new bigger Dazcat around. As these are one of the few multihulls to combine pace And space (most seem to be one or the other) can we expect a write up in YM soon?

Probably not, I'm afraid. I came within a whisker of buying this boat, a Dazcat 12, with a friend, as a bare hull. In the end we pulled out, where upon the then owner of the Dazcat 10, Bella Donna, decided to buy her. He needed some cash to get the project started which was when I bought Bella Donna. The owner is a great guy who plans some long distance sailing. She is called Born Slippy. I have not seen her since she was launched.

Thanks for the update JJ. Do you have any specs for the 12 or is she intended to be a one off? Perhaps someone has a photo of Born Slippy which they can post.

Although only one has been built so far, I am sure Daz Newton would be very happy to build another. Obviously, as each Dazcat is effectively a one off, they tend to be quite costly. If you PM me your email address, I have some line drawings and specifications I can send you. There are pictures at www.dazcat.co.uk, click on the Dazcat 1190 photo

Despite the tin-shack style yard with rutted-track access, Dazcat/Multimarine, is a very technology savvy company. Some of their projects are mind blowingly sophisticated (Impossible Dream, Mary Slim) while others are absolutely basic (10m Racer)
