I'm looking for a pair of davits for my 60 ft motor cruiser, to take a 2.7m rib and 6hp engine. Take a look on www.tomjonescruising.com to see the boat.
Davits are a bit clanky and fiddly and windy. On that size boat why not extend the bathing platform (it's steel, right, so just weld one on) then put dinghy on chocks. Much nicer, quicker+easier to launch and recover, classier. And massively cheaper surely? If a small RIB, you can manhandle on/off, else get hydraulic crane and do it in style. Twill impress the punters more. And you can swim off the platform (though not in Liverpool, praps Southport though?)
