I'm using my garmin 72 for a bit of passage planning for a cross channel. I've got some waypoints from the almanac - the UK one's use WGS84 datum which is all tickety boo and straightforward. The waypoints for the French side are referred to ED50. All my charts are WGS84 so, just to see, I plotted the French waypoints and the lat and long matched up with the given bearing and distance data or at least with no discernable difference allowing for my clumsy jommetry.
Anybody know what the difference is between the two datums ?
regards spuddy.
