is sweeping through the valleys, where fireworks are being used to blow telephone boxes apart, and quite effectively. Should they now be banned from public sale, or should the perpetrators be charged under the anti terrorism act?
i for one would vote for the latter, what do you all think ??

had this in bournemouth last year, some pillock put one (a bloody big one!) in a phone box on a busy street... blew the thing completely apart, luckily no one was hurt. although an ambulance technician had a lucky escape.

i supose this means that we'll have kids throwing fireworks in the streets over the next few weeks?

we'll get called out to out of control bonfires and related injuries, and the police will be powerless to act as they've been "moderised" and now don't have the resources to cope. oh well, that's progress for you.

Not a bad idea, could make a good spectator sport, better than paying to watch football anyway !!!

Also doing society a favour, we could be onto something here.

You should see Bristol. There are literally running battles in the streets with kids firing off huge, multi-headed mortars directly at each other or a cars. It's just like open war!

ban them

I have two quivering frightened dogs for 8 weeks at this time of year, my quality of life is severely affected at this time of year. These are not whimpy dogs either, getting control of a dog with the strength of wrestler who refuses to come out from under the stairs is no mean feat.

Once a year on 5th November is fine, at least I can prepare, but it does seem to have got out of control in the last few years.

I agree, it's got completely out of hand, if we must have them, sell them only on Nov 5th, then make them illegal on Nov 6th. Charge anybody found with them after that under the firearms act. Mkae people who buy flares for boats, show their boat regstration or some proof of identity/address etc. This kind of behaviour has to stop, it's just ridiculous.

No it\'s not

This kind of behaviour has to stop, it's just ridiculous. Rubbish in 'Tony Land' it's all part of growing up. Yesterday we were all placed 'on message' about anti social behavior - I bet it will be a re-run of the 'Three strikes and you are out' policy. At the last count it had been used against just two miscreants - and they looked like getting off - it appears they had some sort of 'Rights'

The police have the power to deal with this through existing legislation but they choose not to as they regard chasing real criminals like greengrocers selling carrots in lbs rather than kg or marginally speeding motorists as far more important, thats when they can find a break from calculating their disability and pension rights

Re: No it\'s not

Phoney Blairs world!! I would enforce the full anti- terrorism laws as laid down after 9/11 and send them all, of, on a 6wk cruising /motorboating/sailing, re- education and rehab jaunt. to show them the errors of their ways!!! I think NOT,
What will happen is a poor innocent will get hurt, only then will it make national press!! and then it will be too late for the victim and family!!
Utopia in Blair world!!!!
