Cutting Dyneema.

Making myself a few soft shackles but wow is that stuff tuff! A Stanley knife with a brand new blade and I'm struggling to get through a bit of 5mm 12-strand. What do you use to cut it?

Yes but then it might not fit in a fid.

It's a while since I've worked with the stuff but I think I found it better cut with scissors rather than a blade.

I just use brand new stanley knife and lots of cuts! Then new blade

Scissors to taper the end of the splice.

Butane knife to cut. Scissors to taper.

I use a scalpel or stanley knife, cutting on a chopping board or handy scrap of wood.
It doesn't melt as neatly as polyester.
Some scissors cut dyneema very well, others do not.

Ceramic knife works well when new, but becomes blunt quite quickly and I found them almost impossible to sharpen.

I have used this one for years still good performance Scissors D16
Before that I used a Fiskars scissor with at scissor sharpener used regularly (before each use)
